Refund Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Who decides refunds

Each event's organiser sets that event's own refund terms, shown on the event's page. Ticketa does not set a single platform-wide refund rule for every ticket, because refund terms depend on what the organiser can offer for their specific event.

If the organiser cancels the event

Where an organiser cancels an event outright, ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price unless the event's page states otherwise. Any Ticketa platform fee charged on the booking is refunded at the same time as the ticket price.

If a customer wants to cancel

Whether a customer can get a refund for a ticket they no longer want depends on the organiser's stated policy for that event — check the event's page before booking. Where an event's page doesn't state a policy, contact the organiser directly or reach out to support@distinct-app.com and we'll help you get in touch with them.

Payment provider constraints

Ticketa's checkout is currently in sandbox / test mode, so no live refunds are processed today. Once online payment processing is enabled, refunds will be issued back through the same payment provider used for the original booking, and may be subject to that provider's own processing timelines.

Chargebacks and disputes

If you dispute a charge with your bank or card provider instead of requesting a refund through us first, please contact support@distinct-app.com so we can try to resolve it directly — a chargeback can delay resolution and may affect an organiser's ability to process future refunds.

Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under South African consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded by agreement.
